John Machumbe is a highly experienced Tanzanian accounting and audit professional with over twenty-two years of practical experience in accounting and more than eight years of audit experience gained from both the public and private sectors. He has strong expertise in accounting and audit assurance services, including financial audits, special audit reviews, fund accountability audits, management audits and procurement audits,. He has extensive exposure to accounting and auditing of companies and donor-funded projects, ensuring compliance with applicable financial reporting standards and statutory requirements.

He holds a Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from Mzumbe University, an Advanced Diploma in Certified Accountancy from Mzumbe University, and has attained Professional Level III with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) of Tanzania. He is currently serving as an Assistant Accounting Manager at Baker Tilly DGP & Co., where his responsibilities include the preparation and review of financial statements for various companies and donor-funded projects, ensuring compliance with reporting standards and the Companies Act.

Previously, he worked with the Ministry of Finance at the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy as an Assistant Accountant, where he was responsible for scrutinizing supporting documents prior to payment processing, preparing monthly statements of expenditure and revenue, and compiling financial flash reports for submission to the Treasury. He also worked with the Tanzania Red Cross Society as a Projects Accountant and Administration Officer, where he was involved in maintaining donor funds records and preparing financial reports in accordance with donor requirements.

In addition to his professional career, John Machumbe has demonstrated strong leadership and community service through his long-term involvement as a Parish Secretary at Kinyerezi Church for over ten years and as Treasurer of the Kibaga Brothers Community Group for seven years.
